Backpack of Dreams

Objective: To provide backpacks and learning materials that help children succeed in school.

Description: This campaign ensures every child has a personal backpack and the tools necessary for learning. Supplies are refreshed monthly, giving students everything from notebooks and rulers to sharpeners and pens. A simple backpack and set of pencils or notebooks can mean the difference between staying in school or dropping out. Each child receives a sturdy backpack annually and a monthly refill of essential school supplies. This campaign helps ensure no child falls behind for lack of materials. Since launch, dropout rates in supported communities have dropped by 40%, and students show greater responsibility for their belongings and school work.
